Entry for September 18, 2005

"look at the heel of your boot."  I looked and we all started laughing.  As you can see from the picture my comfy foot position included resting the heel of my brand new boot on the muffler.  The black stuff is melted rubber from the heel.  I'm just glad it wasn't transmission oil.
Needless to say I put the kick start lever back on before the return ride.

The ride?  Oh it was great, I got detoured in Marquette and the 72 mile ride turned into 97.  I rode south into a 25mph wind and the temperature was 94 degrees but I had the wind to my back coming home.  The detour caused me to meet another lost rider and the road was nice and twisty for back roads Kansas.  Doug is feeling pretty good with his new pace maker so all in all it was a good day.  Oh, except for that binding throttle cable, but that is another day.
